VoiceOver

Every screen is fully navigable with VoiceOver. The 48-hour forecast chart — ordinarily a purely visual histogram — exposes an audio graph: select any measure's chart and VoiceOver speaks the acceptable-range threshold, then walks through each window-open and window-close moment in order, naming the value at that point and whether a notification is scheduled there. Navigating a measure is deliberately simple: two VoiceOver stops — one to expand or collapse it, one to read its chart.

Voice Control

The seven range-slider filters (temperature, precipitation, humidity, wind, UV, air quality, allergens) support Voice Control's "increment" and "decrement" commands — or a swipe up/down under VoiceOver — to adjust their values without touching the screen.

Larger Text

Text throughout the app scales with your Dynamic Type setting, from the smallest system size up through the larger accessibility sizes. One exception: the forecast chart's dense grid layout caps out at a large, non-accessibility text size, following Apple's guidance for data-dense fixed-geometry layouts.

Dark Interface

Aerzeit uses a single, permanently dark interface — there's no light-mode screen to navigate around.

Differentiate Without Color Alone

Selection states and forecast conditions are never conveyed by color alone. The forecast chart, for example, marks each notification window's time range with a shaded background band and an outlined border — not just a change in the bars' own color.

Sufficient Contrast

Text and icons are checked against WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for text, 3:1 for icons and other UI components) throughout the app. One deliberate exception: the "Delete Location" header uses red at a slightly reduced contrast (~3.4:1) to keep its urgency signal legible — a considered tradeoff, not an oversight.

Reduced Motion

Expand/collapse animations and other motion throughout the app respect your Reduce Motion system setting.
